Party on the hill

This family session was wild and wacky and just the way I like it. Give me crazy fun kids any day! If you're worried about your kids behaving during a session, don't be! I'd rather have them be themselves than looking at the camera with a painful, clenched-teeth smile. Of course we'll grab a couple of those posed shots but I want to capture your relationships, genuine smiles, and the laughter that only your family shares. Those are the images that will make you feel something deeper, something special, something that makes you want to look at it over and over again.

Oh and the best part? This session was shot entirely on film. Yeah for that magic!

Ruby

Ruby? She's kind, thoughtful, smart, talented, not to mention beautiful. Her mom had the idea to plan a session for her with none other reason than to show her how truly beautiful she is both inside and out. It couldn't have come together more perfectly. One of my favorite sessions to date.

A First with Film

It's been a long time coming but I finally had the chance to go back to my roots and shoot a family session with film at the Film With Sam Workshop. Exciting? Yes! Scary? Yes! Worth it? Oh Yeah!
I know film isn't for everyone, but there has always been something about it that draws me into it's texture and depth. It truly is the medium I love best. Hopefully as time goes on I will have the ability to weave it more into my regular family sessions. I can't wait!

The Curtis Family

This family. It's like curling up in a warm fuzzy blanket when we meet up for a family session again. I can't believe we are coming up on almost 10 years since I started photographing them. I've watched their family of boys double and marveled at what amazing parents they are. It's a privilege to be a part of documenting their relationships year after year.
